Accommodation

Personal service and attention to detail are our hallmark and the modest number of only 22 single rooms enables us to offer the degree of personal service we wish to provide.

Built in the 1920s as an imposing private "villa", Red Rocks continues to be lovingly maintained and improved. There are 10 bedrooms on the ground floor with the remaining 12 on the first floor, which is accessed either by the oak panelled staircase or the 5 person passenger lift. There is a 24 hour CCTV and lighting system in operation together with our electronic gates and door entry system. Photograph of Red Rocks Nursing Home

All our rooms command sea views to one degree or another, with some having their own patio doors leading to the terraces and overlooking Hilbre Island, and the Dee Estuary, a recognised site of outstanding natural beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Each of our rooms is tastefully furnished and individually styled and decorated. It may even be possible for your personal choices to be incorporated into any refurbishment. We also encourage you to bring personal possessions, which may include ornaments, pictures, photographs and small items of furniture such as a favourite armchair or occasional table.

Although all our rooms are single, some are able to accommodate twin beds. However we will only offer to share a room in this way, should a married couple request this.

Each room has:

  • private washing facilities, with some having full ensuite facilities;
  • modern safety features - ceiling fire and/or smoke detectors, window locks;
  • 22" flatscreen colour TV's with Fastext
  • a portable nurse call point;
  • one or more wardrobes;
  • an easy chair of your choice;
  • individually controlled central heating that is fully adjustable;
  • a bedside table or chest of drawers with a reading or night light;
  • all rooms also contain a BT telephone point for added independence.

The hallway and staircase located centrally on the ground floor, offer a warm welcome, being decorated in rich oak panelling where the 5 person lift gives access to the first floor. The dining room leads off the hall, again finished in oak, having a feature stone fireplace and an assortment of antiques. The sun lounge leads from the dining room and has one of the finest panoramic views on the Wirral, with its large floor to ceiling patio doors enabling access to the cultivated terraces where lunch and afternoon tea are often served during the summer.

There are always alternative dishes available and visitors are more than welcome to join you for Morning Coffee or Afternoon Tea, or if you prefer, occasionally for lunch, at a nominal charge.
